Meet Our Team

Natacha helps individuals with spiritual counseling and mentoring, life coaching through NLP, and energy healings. She also facilitate a women’s healing circle, and and Xinachtli youth group for young ladies. Natacha is the co-founder of Grandmother’s House of Herbs and Cures and Ceiba USA, with her mother Mavis Salazar.

Natacha has worked in the Westwood community to strengthen her neighborhood through Denver Foundation’s Navigation program. In her experience as a community organizer and navigator, Natacha has worked with a plethora of community based organizations of color and businesses. In the past, she has volunteered with Family Tree in their “Parenting Time” program to assist parents develop a relationship with their children and create a safe environment for their development.

Currently, she is attending the Community College of Denver, in preparation to transfer to the Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she will obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling. Natacha is a mother of two teenagers and has strong values in building family unity as well as unity in the community.

Mavis Salazar is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Ceiba USA, and has been an advocate for health and education for much of her adult life. Mavis’ work centers on indigenous health and nutrition practices, such as decolonizing the diet to include garden cultivation of nutritionally rich foods that have been consumed by indigenous people since time immemorial. She owns Grandmother’s House of Herbs and Cures, and also works as a contractor to develop multimedia e-learning, corporate education, conservation practices, and leadership programs for large and small businesses in Denver and Copala La Esperanza, Guatemala. She provides group tours to Guatemala, and has a BA in English and Communications from Metropolitan State University of Denver. An herbalist and native of Denver, Colorado, Mavis has been studying Integrative Medicine for the past 30 years. She is certified in the following modalities: Reiki, Medical Qi Gong, Herbalism, and Aromatherapy. She has studied with Practitioners in the U.S., Mexico, Guatemala, and Scotland.
